This presentation gives practical tips on how to influence the jury by delivering a powerful and effective opening statement. While an opening statement is not an argument at trial, it is the jury's first impression of not only the attorneys that will be presenting the case, but of the party's themes and the relevant facts of the case. • An opening statement can make or break a client's case. Once a jury forms an opinion regarding either the attorney presenting or the themes of the case, it will be very difficult to change their mind. • This presentation will help guide attorneys when creating their opening statements to create the most effective presentation of their case.
